For My Brother Jack (Gallagher) Universal Publishing

No lyrics but a lot of story....

This is an homage to the rolled-gold, grand master Jackie Orszaczky, one of Austrailia’s greatest and un-heralded music geniuses - peerless bass player, arranger, band leader, composer, entertainer. His decade long tuesday night  residency in Sydney, originally at The Rose Of Australia Hotel in Erskineville and later at Newtown RSL, is the stuff of legend and once cannily described as “the best free Tuesday night of entertainment anywhere in the world”.

Jackie fostered a couple of generations of musicians in his various ensembles – great drummers, bass players, horns, everything. Jack always, on meeting, would adress me as Brother Brendan, just as he addressed all his contemporaries. He died in February 2008 just short of his 60th birthday.
